Oh, our generator stopped sending power right after I posted that, even though the motor still runs and the "thing" (generator?) still spins - Resets don't get it to send power (if we're even resetting it correctly/successfully).
Also took the highway to get gas from the next town, of which there was a line of cars out on the road.
Our Home Depot of course was the 1 place that had their shit together, besides also the supermarket. But of course their generators were all gone, and same at the Home Depot several towns away. But that one has a Lowes across from it (which is Hiring btw, even though my uncle was just let go from there because they don't want to pay his retirement). Anyways, at like... idk, 3PM we happened to meet the guy who set up a new generator delivery coming from Georgia arriving at around 7PM or later, but he was carrying something heavy, so it was brief - We didn't even know it was him setting it up. Unfortunately, word didn't get around to the next guy we talked to that we needed to get a ticket. So we went home to wait with my grandmother (who is pretty much completely out of it mentally, at this point), with no knowledge of a ticket system.
Wheel and feet assembly required. Ugh.
Our old uncooperative generator had 2 power stages - with a 3-prong and 4-prong outlets, respectively. Our house has a 4-prong inlet. Our new generator has a 3 stages - 3-prong, 4-prong, and... I think a 5 prong outlet? Fine. Nope. The 4-prong of our old generator has a notch going inwards. The 4-prong of our new one has a notch doing outwards. (No cables included.)
It's now midnight. We aren't going to the store to get a new cable. Box-cutting and cardboard staple removing and other general cleanup. We are done. (Until the next day).
Our last, and still current dilemma (and I'm sure there's some others we had that I've already forgotten) is I believe that whenever the water pump kicks in, it drops our Frontier internet/TV gear. Except in this situation, for some reason, they are not coming back on once they get enough power again, which otherwise they are normally supposed to do and have. But not right now. (It also shut off while I've been writing this.) Frontier gave us a UPS with no chance of replacement from them (ever) and it's long since dead.
I cannot answer why they are not coming back on again on their own. UPS availability right now I'm sure is very limited. And our Staples might still be without power and shut down. All other office supply stores have left the state. The next option is probably the Best Buy or something else way out where we were before.
Oh yeah, Eversource just called just before this and said 99.?% should be back by Tuesday. The question is, where are we in that %?

We come back early to find the line for the generators nearly almost all already there and find out about the tickets. BUT (which I'm sure is normal anyways) they gave out 100 tickets and ordered 114 generators. So we got one.

The next day we got a cable and got it running. Hooked up. Yay, finally.
Of course you have to do some various experiments. We found out that even though it gets through a laundry wash, it won't make it all the way through a dryer cycle (new washer/dryer) and actually dry them without the gen shutting off - at least with what we can get from the 4-prong output.
