Gawker Media is being sold due to the Hulk Hogan lawsuit, funded buy Peter Thiel for an earlier article talking about his sexuality.
Apparently, Teressa Thomas, a former Yahoo! employee is suing for a similar event.
Sometime later on (in the year?) everything will be (or could be) under a new owner. Who knows, maybe it'll improve Gawker/Kinja sites.... or... like seems usual lately, maybe Kotaku will get completely canned.
Runnin' out of decent (and timely) gaming news sites to look at, that I know of....
There's a lot of reasons why I dislike Kotaku.... but they have or are the breaking news most of the time.
IGN and Gamespot can just be obnoxious a lot of the time still, despite sometimes putting out some good content. They're known sellouts as well. Is it odd that I feel like Game Informer's website is one of the more pleasant ones to browse? (despite some flaws) Though I'm not sure that they're as good at instant breaking news though, and... I may be giving them a pass for more things that I would hate seeing on the others, because they are/were a magazine company.
Polygon has been pretty dang questionable for several reasons as well.
Speaking of Kotaku, here's a decent one:

Thiel has donated money to the Committee to Protect Journalists and supported freedom of speech, but said, “I refuse to believe that journalism means massive privacy violations. I think much more highly of journalists than that. It’s precisely because I respect journalists that I do not believe they are endangered by fighting back against Gawker.”
