i saw a link on this, thinking it was a free Halloween update for fun, but you have to pay for it?! whatever. We actually have been playing online lately...against better judgement me and my son going online with my teenage son with Down Syndrome. He always wanted to play the cowboy game haha. Basically just us riding around and lassoing each other (sometimes shooting each other I admit). Just fun exploring. Would have been cool to have some fun Halloween themed stuff in the open world.

Not sure, but the cosmetics might just be paid for, but the new game mode could be free.
Still, kind of incredibly lacking. (it seems)

God, it's been so long since I've been in RDR2 due to other things, I almost forget what I was doing last. Cigarette cards still I think?

Ok, so RDR2 Online is released as standalone on this Dec 1st at $5 introductory price if you don't already have the game ($20 normally), yet it is 123GB. I don't see anything on it being a "free" PS+ offer like GTA V Online, which.... I can't believe isn't coming until the 2nd half on next year (the upgraded and standalone version anyways)? Bounty Hunter is also getting another expansion. But they also don't say anything about it getting next-gen improvements (which GTA V is) and just that it's a "BC title".

So I got a glitch where my weather got semi-permanently stuck in heavy rain. The clouds would still move, but would never change density. The rain even carried over all the way up through the snowy regions. It I guess made Colter slightly spookier seeing it at night in the rain, rather than snow (other than the ground snow). The other quirk is that it made the fog over the lake(s) in the snowy region go dark like it does in the swamp, which I've never thought was particularly natural in the swamp either. Instead of the black/brown fog that the Swamp gets, this fog over the ice lake with incorrect weather was black with some white highlights. I thought it was going to stay with me until I relaunched the game, as some others said. There's quite a few reports of it, and that sleeping / reloading a save still doesn't fix it. Gotta relaunch. But to my surprise it rather strangely (even strange for this game's weather shifts) shifted to sunny/partly cloudy as soon as I entered the Great Plains. I thought the permanent rain would have stayed with me maybe even through the desert because it had stayed in every one of the other zones.
Oh yeah and this permanent rain glitch frickin' happened just as I was failing at hunting a woodpecker for one of the hunting requests - no small birds spawn when it's raining. While looking things up, I found out that in a lightning storm you can trigger a lightning strike to kill you by standing at the burnt tree patch on top of the mountain in Roanoke Ridge with the Viking Helmet and raising the Viking Axe there. But this wasn't going to happen for me because I was stuck with just permanent heavy rain.

So I finally entered the Special Edition items code, which went through successfully in the PS store anyways, but of course the Iguana Scale Trinket refuses to appear in my game inventory. I might have to do some more confirmation, but it might be an item that appears as unacquired in the Perks list for everyone, but was only available to those who got the pre-order code? Which again I just entered and doesn't appear in my game or inventory as it should. W t f Rockstar.

So after over 2 years, I finally got what RDR2 requires for 100%. But I still have 2 tasks that are (for me) long since uncompletable, as well as 1 missing Compendium item and several missing perks due to bugs. But then also, oh wait, there's at least 2 trophies that are also missable (which means the Platinum as well). I'm sorry/not sorry, but THAT IS BULLSHIT!!!!!! But one of them can glitched strangely and easily into completion, which I did. But the other one would mean that I have to play through..... half the entire game or more again to get it? There's no solution for this one.
Unless maybe it were to work by editing my save... earlier than I was going to, if I even do. The only PS4 save extractor/importer (which is actually legitimate) is $60. But it doesn't necessarily mean stuff will work out. (Somebody has made a RDR2 save editor for PS4, which requires this paid software, but I still can't be sure if things will work for what I need it for specifically, or how I'd necessarily go about triggering this lengthy trophy early... successfully). Oh and a 3rd of the trophies are Online trophies as well. I don't know if I'm going to go through with editing my save file because it's become more problematic.
I am still very much unhappy about this. This does not make me feel good about if I ever start playing Online, feeling as ripped off as I am after all this time.
Edit: I may be able to pull off that stupid trophy just by doing things in Chapter 2, but some still have trouble with it. And of course I have to go through all of Chapter 1 to get there. It's shorter, but I don't remember how short.

Holy shit....
I don't think I EVER saw the Stranger in the first game. I was always confused when I saw somebody talking about it, but never looked into it.

btw, you can mark the meditating monk that's on top of the mountain in Grizzlies East at Noon on your map as a POI. When you're standing behind him, you have to look away from him to actually do it. because you'll just have the prompts to "interact" with him, otherwise. Been going to the uneasy and uneven mess that is the documentation and known info of all the locations and mysteries of RDR2. There's just so many many many frickin' spots with things that you might think or wonder if it'll go to something that you haven't found, or nobody's ever found, even if it's been strongly investigated. Rockstar leaves so many things for the community to end up at dead ends of potential, that.... who knows, may never be solved. You don't know if there's another secret with some hidden trigger in some extremely obtuse puzzle that somebody at R* made. There's already been several. Of course they did that in GTA V, too. Where is meteorite #1? We have #2 and #3. Why have we found 2 UFO sightings and nothing more? (The Mount Chiliad mystery in GTA V still hasn't been completely solved even after additional aliens/artifacts and stuff were added much later (in Online?) right?) Why no living Sasquatch? Like, not a single one (as far as we know) even though we talked to the last one in Undead Nightmare. There's faces carved into a ring of trees, at least most of which look kind of like sasquatch to me (or people in heavy winter (fur) hoods?). (Heck there's even a Giant skeleton up in the mountain, but it's got an ox skeleton next to it, so apparently this is just Paul Bunyun? (There's lots of these around the map. - References to real life places, events, or myths. LOTS of them.)) And who the hell is this missing Princess in RDR2? and so many potential other things. ugh
I don't really know, but I think it's been over a year since anyone's made any legitimate bits of progress on anything. So much mess of speculation. Oh yeah, and don't get me started on the assholes who very intentionally and very deliberately post long rambling videos "explaining" and "solving" this ReD DeAd MyStErY that they don't solve. Oh but "GIVE THEM A LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE!", in their very smug sadistic voices knowing exactly what they're doing - grabbing the views. And the people who don't play the game actually eat it up and rate it up, while the people who are actually looking for this info are the irate minority. Misinformation for clicks.

Oh yeah, remember this? lol
Even though it's a prequel, her skeleton can be found tied up to a mill in New Austin. It's really easy to find and of course I did a long time ago.

Oh shit.... That unreachable cave-looking spot up in the northern cliffs of Ambarino (East) actually does do something in RDR2.
At first I thought it was going to be interacting, or at least talking to the last Sasquatch again for the first time. But.... no? It's (seemingly) another (non-sasquatchy) giant, that you get to talk to, but you never get to see. A giant that tries to be nice, but of course everyone else is cruel. You can talk to him 4 times (I think) with short conversations that don't go anywhere. 2 with Arthur (which I missed) and 2 with John. Oh and..... you're not likely to recall, but there's a flock of birds at the lake in front of the Native American reservation which once you scare them all, fly in a line all the way along the mountain trail to the cave. I'm pretty sure I've actually noticed it, but was too lazy to go follow it and shrugged it off as nothing. (oh and you needed to have found 30 animals for it to trigger the first time, supposedly.)
There's no known model of the giant, but someone found quite a lot of extra dialogue, indicating that you might've been able to go talk to him at any time (visibly). And even have a confrontation/skirmish with him. (He's apparently bullet-proof.)
He's also yet another one that had escaped from a circus. Of course not much unlike the guy you find with the traveling group you meet in Van Horn, except this escaped giant in the cave is more intelligent. It's uncertain if it's also directly connected to the "Paul Bunyan" skeleton, but it certainly could have been.
