I found another place to fix the favicon, so it shows in Chrome now. Also added a "Recent Posts" button in the top row. Sadly, there's no link I can use for just new/unread posts as far as I know. There is a sidebar redux plugin that might be nice to use, but I don't know enough about CSS to try to see if I can put the recent posts in it. www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/2Thinking about auto-embedding video links (for supported sites), but I don't know if that's ever gonna cause issues, like if someone wants to start the video at a certain point, which I don't think simple Youtube embedding supports. Does ProBoards get updated automatically here? I wouldn't know how to do it manually if needed. A lot of spacing and formatting bugs in the post editors. Ugh... and the post fonts and editor fonts don't scale at the same settings and I can't figure out how to get them the same....

Thanks for the recent posts button. I'd love to have the Recent Threads button up there like that if they have it. I keep having to go back to the main page and click the recent threads down at the bottom. It works but one click at the top would be better. I miss the Go To Top button too.
Thanks for looking at this stuff, this is great. I just don't have the time as much as I used to...
I think ProBoards is supposed to get updated automatically, but not sure how often etc. Seems pretty basic so far.

I'm not sure what you're talking about with the first part, or if we're all set. But I added a Go To Top button - The arrow on the right. It took a while, but I think I finally got the quick reply font to be the same and the same size as the actual post font with a little sneakery and a little bit of custom code I found on the ProBoards forum. But really, it might not really solve all that much because the Quick Reply box is extended farther to the left than the posts. Same goes for the full reply box. I'm slowly trying to make post boxes more uniform, but it's hard to tell by eye. I think I've gotten most of it (which some bugs I made that I gotta find and reset), but there was some weird stuff going on where it was choosing from a set "Family" of fonts, but not choosing the same font for every box. I'm wondering/hoping I got most of it now, but I'm not sure. The custom code I found was specifically for the quick-reply box, but it's a shame that there isn't code specifically for the Quick Reply properties built in, as far as I can tell. I got lucky extending the code for quick reply font size to also have a variable for font type, but I wouldn't know what else to do from there. And I hope there's something I can find to push the Quick Reply box right. I bet they'll help out if I end up having to ask on the ProBoards forums. And this is rather obnoxious, but for some reason the settings for the Moderator names and Sub-Board names on the front page are linked to the thread names in the boards, instead of like the Board names having the same settings as the thread names... or you know... having their own settings all together. So, so far, if I want to make the thread names not small... the moderator and sub-board names on the front page need to be not-small as well. And don't think that the "Moderator" or "Sub-Board" settings are for their entire lines on the front page. Oh no. That only includes "Moderator:" and "Sub-Board:" and not what comes after the colon....

I'm having so much trouble with this and am so sick of it.... I've reset it like 50 times. I keep trying to edit things like fonts for things without editing other things, and I can't understand the code enough to edit it properly. I also started to make some progress in figuring out ways, but probably not the proper ways, to change the Quick Reply size and position... but don't know how to get it to properly match the behavior of the posts. So I've just given up and reset it. And man, I've certainly learned why people hate formatting so much in CSS.

Well I've gotten the boxes for quick reply posts about the same size.... but the different font scalings (with the same units) are still being a problem.... I'm also finding that, on top of that, Firefox and Chrome scale a little differently. At least mine do. So that's not really helping.
Even ignoring the differences between browsers, I still can't understand why none of the various units are matching up between the quick reply box and the posts.

Yeah I was saying there is a recent threads link on the main page which I find I like better than recent posts. Its a better summary imo. Loving the go to top button.. thanks! Do they have a go to bottom as well? Going to a recent thread puts you on top instead at the end.
But don't worry about recent threads button, I think the El recent posts view will absolutely suffice. I think it got mess only if multiple replies on a single thread needed to be viewed.

Ah, there you go. It also had Go To Bottom built in that I needed to enable. And I just found the actual way to get to specific plugin settings. It's a bit confusing.
It's one button visible or the other, though, and I believe Go To Bottom kind of only appears when you're at the top.

Added a Quick selection/highlighted text Quote feature to quickly add a quote of highlighted text to the Quick Reply. Hoping it won't become an annoyance because it happens next to the highlight and not from a button in the Quick Reply box.

I feel that I should let you both know my stance at this point, though I'm sure you'd both already guessed to some extent.
Although I appreciate this setting up of an alternate forum by Space, along with your work to kick it into shape Jgr - I will not be able to assist in any way unfortunately. I've been a forum moderator on two forums in the past, and subsequently have no real interest in all of the stuff that comes bundled with those duties. One of those stints was on a ProBoards forum, which would have been helpful here, but I just don't have the interest (even if it were hosted elsewhere.)
This doesn't mean that I won't be contributing occasionally, but that will unfortunately be the extent of my presence here.
It has been fun, but with the old site closing down in a couple of months and life's own requirements taking a stronger precedence, I think that this is a natural enough point for me to step back into the shadows. I also didn't want it to be anything like the way Rhymane left: fading out and then leaving without saying a word.

Hey Jim, no problem at all of course and completely understandable. I certainly appreciate all of your contributions and comments these past years. Of course I will miss hearing from you as much, but as long as we can keep in touch once in awhile that'd be great. thanks for not just disappearing! I'll put you as a regular member and I hope you do find the time to stop in from time to time. Cheers man

...as long as we can keep in touch once in awhile that'd be great... But of course. And I'm still up for any Dead Island, Dying Light or Borderlands 2 co-op whenever we get the time

Hmm.... Well I think this is gonna suck for me more than I want to think it would. (The lack of members.) I think I can probably get my little cousin on here (hopefully without his father, which would be rather unpleasant for me ). But that would mean a shift more to the PC side for this forum. Which is good for me, since I've been pretty much the only one. Maybe I could even get him to play TF2 a little more haha. I can't see him buying a Playstation console at his age. His father's a Nintendo fan, which is good that he's at least a gamer, but I think even he'd think the monthly fee is kinda crazy. I think my cousin is trying to get into making this own 3D Minecraft animations in Blender. He's made a lot more progress than me on that front. But I think more PC discussion here would be good. My cousin is 13... or 14 or something like that. Perhaps you could get your kids on here as well, Space.
