Funnily enough, I was actually just playing this today. It really is an enjoyable game minus a few small issues I have with it. Though yes, the feel of the combat has transformed back and forth a few times since launch. Right now it feels very stiff when attacking.
But what's great about the developer is that they've released way more free content than the 1 DLC they released.
I'm unsure about some of the changes he talks about (and have no idea what the hell he was talking about at the end), but we shall see. We shall also see if it ends up seeming like it should have been an expansion rather than a sequel, which it seems like it might,... yet they definitely deserve a sequel. Even if it looks like it's just an expansion.
Not a fan of the dealer's new robe colors though haha...
Also note that it seems like the Kotaku writer probably hasn't played it since around launch.

Looks like they really improved combat. Like locked dodging and such, which should make it easier to not dodge all over the place, but just hope that you don't get yourself cornered. Hope you're gonna really easily be able to switch targets, because that was definitely required in the first game, which had a pretty loose lock.
