lol, The Post Office window in Blackwater is labeled "Tickets", even though there's no rail line to Blackwater. He can't sell you any either. And again, the information the game gives you in various ways for specific fish is painfully vague and also inaccurate, and even contradictory to itself - not unlike a lot of the animal info.

Ugh, btw, if you end up losing a Legendary Fish before you can mail it, they are not like the Legendary Animals where it doesn't matter if you lose their pelts because the Trapper automatically gets it anyways. The Legendary Fish, which you're mailing to a different guy, if lost doesn't get to the Post Office on its own. The fish gets un-crossed-off on the map and you have to catch it again (even though the Compendium still states that you have caught it).

Actually, one of the ones I did lose didn't unmark itself on the map, but I could still catch it again.

Omg, the end of the fishing (quest) line (ha) is so god damned lame...... I don't even care about spoiling it. In this quest line, if you can even call it that, there's 2 entire moments where you interact with the guy who gives you it - the start and the end. In classic Rockstar fashion, this guy has a hugely inflated ego, a staple of their games, really. Intentional, sure, but it's beyond tropey for them at this point, especially when this is so lackluster and well.... lacking. You meet the guy once. After catching all the Legendary Fish, you meet him again and John agrees to go along with him, being very easily convinced - (Franklin, the black guy you play as in GTA V? Yup, very much resembles him getting pulled into everything. It's like the bad horror movies where you know the person shouldn't go into the room and there's no reason for them to do so.) You go photograph this egomaniac trying to fish for the Legendary Channel Catfish, and he gets pulled into the water and is of course gone forever. You get to pick up his hat and his lure. Yes, the Legendary Fishing is easy compared to the other animals (well... heck the non-legendary animals are harder to hunt than the Legendary ones are), but you get this lure that now has the combined effect off attracting all fish with 1 lure, including Legendary (WHICH YOU'VE ALREADY CAUGHT) instead of picking lures. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE USEFUL FOR NOW?!?!!?! This fish that you don't actually see then gets added the remaining slot in the Compendium, but it doesn't indicate that you can catch it like the other ones do, yet it still gets added to the map right there where you're standing. The Compendium even says it'll probably never be caught. woohoo. but again, it does get marked on the map. So we're coming up on 2 years since the game has been out and nobody has actually caught it, so we can probably assume that it actually can't be caught. But, somebody's hacked it to spawn it anyways (this doesn't necessarily mean it works properly). This is what it looks like when it's not bugging out: Yet when it swims, it does this: Again, no idea if it just does that because of the manner it's spawned in. Anyways, it's the side / fringe special things (or things that should be special) in this game that piss me off because of how lacking, tropey (for Rockstar), or even broken they are - Spoilers for other things: Like I also witnessed in Redemption 1, there is a ghost train that you can witness 1 time in a specific location at night (a long time ago now). Nothing beyond that. And I wish there was.
A UFO shows up 1 time if you visit a specific location at night, which I did witness recently even though I've been in that place many times before. I tried again after I picked up another fragment of the meteorite (which will respawn, at least if you've sold it) hoping maybe it would come again, but it does not. Nothing else happens at the meteor house either.
Finding the robot on top of the mountain was neat (which disappears if you ever come back again), but again THERE IS NOTHING ELSE RELATED TO THIS OR ANY OF THESE BEYOND SEEING THESE SINGULAR THINGS TO WITNESS. There's nothing beyond them. No continuing mystery. No story. Nothing. The robot has the most story out of all of these and It sitting on the mountain is the end.
but..... I have found a sequence of numbers that I got John to write in his journal written on a wall in Blackwater - almost not even visible and by accident. I also do want to know if something maybe happens if you carry a turtle carcass up to the hill/mound house that has a turtle symbol on it (which happens to be the symbol of the religious group that has ridiculously minor parts in this game). But I haven't dared to look up either of these at all (yet). And there's also all those people around the game world shouting about their causes until you grab their pamphlet, or whatever they give you. Almost not a single one of them has additional story. Hell, I believe you have to interact with the dude pedaling his rambling scam book more than that lady shouting for women's voting rights. Almost all of them are 1-time interaction - Take the pamphlet and they disappear forever. But even with the other side stories - If every single one of your side stories and moments ( or hell, even the main story) peter out with John just staring in mild bewilderment, if not mild disgust (and that's it to end it) when nothing interesting or even unpredictable happened, that's just repeated disappointment. Over and over again.

Yeah I think a bit more story stuff would go far to keep me in the game, like the whole Gavin thing..I mean a cool buildup and subtle beginning which makes you think the world is alive and exciting to explore but then nothing..
Lol at that tweet about meeting in the game.

The Piebald Hungarian Halfbred horse is infuriatingly hard to find and/or acquire. The Hungarian is already a rather rare spawn, but on top of that, the Piebald Hungarian is an extremely rare spawn inside of that rare spawn. Actually, so rare that there are almost no recorded instances of it spawning in the wild, despite it saying that's how it spawns - if the one(s?) posted even actually spawned wild? So guess what.... All NPCs with guns, especially lawmen, have the ability to spawn (seemingly random?) horses out of thin air. And you can make them do so repeatedly. The highest rate of doing so is pissing off the Blackwater lawmen. EVENTUALLY they will spawn a Piebald Hungarian as they come chasing after you. But they are extremely deadly when you are trying to stay in their chaos to in some manor grab their horse. You can try jumping on their horse, which is difficult, and usually only works one time once it motion, or you can get off yours and get on theirs, with bullets shooting at you constantly. Lassoing a horse makes you get off your own horse, so under gunfire that isn't viable. If the lawman also gets knocked off their horse and you aren't on it, it will also flee from the gunfire. I've had this happen several times, and again, in general you die pretty quickly in this chaos. Eventually, I finally hopped on once, but was unable to escape and died, but "riding" it counted it in my Compendium. I would have been really upset that I died and lost this horse, but since you can only keep 4 horses, it's not like you can really collect them, and only check them all a list. uuuuuuuugh Then to finish up tonight (after days of this - and probably ended up doing the cheese method for the Hungarian), Kentucky Saddler was next on the list. As I've already known, they actually added several horses to all platforms soon after the PC release, as well as some that used to be exclusive to Online only. And of course, then there's the one that came with the pre-order bonus code, which so far I am still refusing to use just out of spite. So I had 4/(now)5 Kentucky Saddlers. Usually that means if there's one that can be bought in a Stable, it's probably that one in my case. Nope, that one wasn't in the stable and I could not tell you how I might have ridden it already. Maybe it was also wild (which isn't usually the case), I don't know. The one that I was missing was added with PC. The previous couple of the PC additions were in very specific remote locations and were pretty much "go there and get them" because they're pretty much 100% spawns. At first glance (and partially misleading info), the details on this one were all over the place. Was this one going to be trouble? Nope, I was just leaving the Valentine Stable where the Grey Kentucky Saddler was supposed to be but wasn't to go all the way to the farms on the North side of Saint Denis where this guy said this Saddler could spawn (not the first time I've tried spawning things there) but the exact horse was hitched up in front of the Church right in front of me in Valentine. Relieving, but god damn this game is messed up in so many ways for completionists.
Anyways, here's not a great picture of I believe the smaller corner of the edge of the map where you would jump off either to the left or right of that peak and spawn in Guarma after dying. (As I've said, I know jumping left gets you there, right might as well, but I'm not sure. I also wonder if passing out drunk there triggers the "No Snipers in Guarma" trick.)

Wow, I name my horses just by the type they are, because again you can't really even collect them and have to keep selling them off (max of 4 you can keep at a time), but "Thoroughbred" came up with a Profanity Alert. (Either that or just "-bred", i don't even know.)
I just finished all the horses and colors that my Compendium wants (minus some oddities? (I think there might be another Tennessee Walker to be found somewhere that I don't even know would tally in my Compendium, but couldn't really figure out what it's about because there's no specific oddities about any of them in online guides (plus there's more Tennessee Walkers than I can keep....) and also the Pre-order horse I haven't entered still.)
I haven't looked through the Achievements, but didn't get one tonight.

lol I just made a camp in the Murfree Brood territory for the first time ever where they then threaten you at gunpoint while you're sitting at your camp, yet don't kill you for some reason, even though I've cleared out their main cave base many many times. As far as I can tell they will always be there over and over. Also, that horse carcass in the wagon in the swamp..... I've gone to it many many many times on foot because of all the collecting you do in the area. It was only like a month ago that I approached it on my horse, so my horse got spooked where it runs into the swamp to get killed by them (couldn't be more lousy and cliche). Jesus Christ, Rockstar, literally nothing at all happens if you approach this dead horse bait on foot. Literally nothing. I've gone over a year doing that while just playing before I finally came to it on my horse.

Just finished the Weapons Compendium. Or the hidden "mission/quest", if you can even call it that, for the last weapon I had remaining. (and again no trophy). And it was again poorly uneventful even though it had the potential to be cool. The only thing interesting (or just dynamic) about it is that the cops finally decided to track me down and take me in on my bounty literally immediately after it, I didn't even got to walk away, and it had nothing to do with what happened, as far as I could tell, except perhaps for the game's ESP Witnesses and law enforcement system (which I still think games can do better in, damnit.)
All of the side missions in this game show that it's as wide as an ocean (of potential & possibilities), but deep as a puddle. Hell, I'd struggle to even call it a puddle. And this hidden thing I did more my last weapon was something for the first people to solve/find, however they did it, and not for the people who aren't going to go through the trouble themselves because it's not worth the trouble. All egg hunts, this game.

lol, They're such trolls. Look at the last few Master Hunter challenges if you aren't going to do them. Also, FYI, Explosive Arrows will "Ruin" an animal, even if there's not much visual indication that it does so, making it unable to be skinned, however, Fire Arrows do not... even though they are very much cooked.
I also got the last Legendary animal extremely efficiently, with a Fire Arrow because it doesn't have any harmful effect on Legendary Pelts whatsoever, so that was nice. I put out some bait when I was about to approach where he was, but I'm not actually sure if he took it, I spotted him with the red dot of my reticle, since I'm personally trying to avoid using Dead Eye (though of course I needed it to spot the damned clues).

I am frickin' pissed right now, even though I was pretty sure this was coming at some point. Yes, you can replay main missions, which then brings you back to "present" time after the mission ends, and I got 1 "missable" trinket exclusive to an old mission this way. This also probably means I could have studied the Guarma animals this way too. HOW FUCKING EVER, you cannot play Strange missions over again. There is no way unless you actually play through the game again (and I'm not sure if progress in those saves combines with others). I don't recall getting the Lion's Paw off of the lion in that Emerald Ranch mission after the series of goofy missions from the circus guy. I'm certain I attempted, but that I was surprised that it wouldn't let me get anything off of it. It's been a long time now, but perhaps I threw an explosive at the lion? (which I just recently learned makes animals unskinnable). But whatever happened, of if the Lion's Paw disappeared from my inventory (Some people were even able to sell it, or saw it get glitch-discarded when they were discarding something else, any I sold it, too? but again, I don't remember actually being able to obtain it after killing the Lion.) Jesus Fucking FUCK!!!! GOD DAMNIT, ROCKSTAR!!!!!!
Oh yeah, I just realized the Lion actually is not in the Compedium, but this damned trinket is.
W T F !
