I know I haven't given much details at all on this because I'm not sure I'm supposed to, and I admit I haven't gotten on to play it in a little while... but they just added these to Crater Lake.... (you know the one ) (I have no idea if you'll be able to see this image because it's from my email.) gallery.mailchimp.com/9b6275614be3dfdce39f1cd81/images/a2f09b9e-0ee0-4b39-890f-32cb5cdf5996.jpgIt's a bad angle but the thing in front of it (below the center of the image) is your hovering ship...

Again, the game is still in VERY early development. (and heavy dof was applied... lol)

Oh... Well then.
Turns out Asobo Studio are the ones who made "Young Conker" (this abomination) and a murder mystery, Fragments, for the HoloLens...
Anyways, the NDA is up on The Last Frontier (Exidium Corp). Still in very early development. I would give more details if it were actually more interesting...
You've got a bunch of hoverships to choose from, each with its own gun type, speed boost, shield, and storage and methods of upgrading or boosting each.
You're on an irradiated planet that, so far from what I've been able to see, is bare of plant life like trees, except for NPC "plants life" and enemies to farm. For the FUEL fans, the map is actually a (I believe shrunken down) copy of the FUEL map. Crater lake, Rainier peak and all (but again, I believe shrunken down a bit or significantly).
You place a "garage" building which creates a ring of space in which to place your various currency harvesters as well as defense turrets and hovering drones to maintain it.
The NPCs that are spawned continuously across the map are mostly several types of alien animals (some of them frickin' massive), but they're mostly stationary until aggro'd.
But there's also NPC bases similar to your own that you can take out for the fastest ways to farm currency. Or... take out other player bases if you're a jerk. Now, however, player bases rebuilt themselves after 4 hours, unless you have a specific drone take literally 1 hour to "corrupt" a base's remaining buildings to make sure they don't rebuild.
Once they improve the website again, your drones will all be controllable by the website and by your phone, all through the map.
When the map worked originally, what made it interesting (at first) was that you can only have 1 storage structure for each currency, yet you can build multiple bases to harvest. You have to/can safely transport your currency transport drones from your other bases to your main base with the storage units. Past or around the NPCs and enemy bases (NPC and player). If you are not in-game to do it yourself with your hovership, you can assign drones with weapons to escort the transport drones across the world with the map. Oh and I forgot to mention that the planet in areas not covered by "Town Hall" shields are irradiated and damage you fairly quickly. You have to build radiation shield drones to follow you around as well as a radiation shield "building" for your garage bases. (lol don't drive away with your rad shield drone while forgetting to build a rad shield for your base...). There's also these "northern lights" type things that travel extremely slowly across the map. You have to have a base under them if you want to harvest their 'currency,' but I haven't actually been able to catch one yet because I'm not a high enough level. It's more likely that they'll be hogged by larger player town hall bases than gotten by me. I'm definitely sure I'd be the main target of other players if I did too. Also... This is obviously going to be a free game. The higher you level up, the longer amount of time it takes to level your things up. But this isn't XP we're talking about here... It's literally hitting a button to tell something to level up BUT.... 1 thing at a time. To make an upgrade happen instantly, you have to use tokens. Tokens which you find on occasion while playing in the game. Of course separate from the other currencies... You can buy boosts and cosmetics with real money.
The thing here with this game though... Higher level players can do whatever the hell they want to lower players. I gotta say, it's not pleasant... but that's how it works at the moment. They implemented a ranking punishment or something like that for higher players taking out the bases of significantly lower players, but they're still gonna do it. But also, for some reason the building and weapon level cap is only like 12-14 right now. If your base is higher than 10, then you're a lovely target for them.
Also I wanted to mention that I'm highly disappointed that they just don't want to be doing land vehicles that you drive around in... even though one appeared in the artwork. It's just hover vehicles that aren't actually planted on the ground. Very disappointed in this from the company that made FUEL... because hover vehicles like these are sooo damn boring..... even if they look cool.
Also, so far, this is Space Farming: The Game pretty much.

Collaboration announcement with Asobo & Focus (focus is pretty much just a publisher).
As for The Last Frontier (Exidium Corp), it's still very much the same game, though they did give us a new "planet" and new engine, with much improved visuals, to start testing out a couple days ago. Still no land vehicles, however... I might have gotten them not deny that land vehicles were coming (which once they did), but I could be wrong. This new planet looks much more drivable (less spiky) than the last one, despite the lack of dirt roads at all now, and the fact that the old one was a modified version of the Fuel map.

Another one with a land vehicle! They better not be bullshitting again. Now if only this was a game that was actually fun...

Interesting.... I am wondering just how dense with obstacles they're planning on making it. Despite drone navigation issues, it's already pretty ridiculous to navigate. The density of massive trees and massive long rocks is crazy. Really slow going. Though they still gotta work on render distance of these obstacles so you don't have huge objects not that far out popping in to what looked like open space, but wasn't. I mean, they're huge, seriously. (I still want FUEL 2, though god damnit!..... )
