Wow. We picked this up looking for a survival game we could play together So intense! It has some frustration due to needing to eat too often and super strong enemies (cannibals so far), but the crafting is quite fun and the feeling / fear of dying is tangible due to the respawning back at beginning plane crash and no health...gotta find your backpack to get your stuff..
We had so much fun though, but barely just scraping by lol.

I heard it turned out good after being in Early Access for so long. But the monsters/cannibals, visually, are a bit much for me, so it's a bit more horror or gross than I'd go for.
You know, I think it's kind of one those things along the lines of why I didn't really enjoy the end of INSIDE, as unique as it was (even without getting stuck in one spot approaching the end for far too long...).
That stuff's not my thing. Or at least not something I want to look at in a game.

Understood. I'm not historically one for that stuff either but I've branched out in recent years. I loved dying light (except at night lol), and RE7 in vr no less! This true scariness of the forest for me gets reduced sitting on the same couch with the family and co-oping online together.
And for gross stuff to look at, it's nothing too bad yet...
