I know this didnt get a great reception, and I cant comment too much on the whole package, but we bought this to play coop with my son and daughter and had a blast the first night...about 2 hours or so I suppose.
Definitely tough and feeling like ammo is too scarce but the map is quite nice and feels survival is hard, but with a fair time to scavenge. Need to run like hell for cover in a house or back of a trailer etc sometimes. Hilarious with the 3 of us.
Even in a house you had to crouch down as the robots were shooting thru the windows. Hope it stays just as fun. I imagine well love like we did the forest, but then the difficulties will pole up and well be done lol.

Man, I haven't played DayZ in forever, mostly because my cousin is never available. But at least the last time we tried (could be the server), which was taken away by him having to re-install fresh, it was maybe an RP server? Or one large friendly group and some unknown enemy group (maybe?). And I'm just not into RP, like.... at all. But people had gardens built and we started building a fort by cutting down all the trees around (doing so was still kind of confusing for those who didn't know how to do it, like I, especially when the full fallen tree models don't disappear anytime soon and you're looking for its given logs. Why we were doing this and why forts are actually helpful in this game, I don't actually know, but then I almost directly witnessed one in our group get sniped in the head randomly (at least we think) from some place I don't know. This was a shoreline city, though which half seems like an odd place to set up, except also the best, sadly, if you're trying to help new friendly players. But then it was too late to justify staying up any longer really. We did have a few zombie problems temporarily. Then I realized that, zombies not being able to break down doors is ok gameplay when solo and you need food and water at some point and are still probably fucked if you're locked in. But with a really fully well supplied group, zombies are just like completely meaningless, at least in the short term, when they have no way of getting in a building with the door closed and the people grouped in the building have supplies. It's like, ok...
