I just finished Shadow Complex: Remastered 100% on normal difficulty. Free to download this month. Comes with the Epic Games launcher. www.epicgames.com/shadowcomplex/
I'm surprised it was actually quite fun. The thing that surprised me the most at first is that on, on normal, the game is very easy. On top of that, all human enemies/non-bosses are designed to be mowed through like crazy. Even though he's an everyman (which is a bit of a disconnect honestly) you're supposed to plow through the enemies at high speed through most of the game. Play like a badass.
Now there's a whole bunch of secondary items and weapons you collect. Well, actually several, but side collectables overload you with more maximum ammo for all of them. Quickly you'll never run out.
You also piece together a suit of armor with powers. A couple of which are frickin' awesome. Suddenly, you finally look like an unstoppable force instead of an everyman that can take a million bullets - The "disconnect." Unfortunately, at least if you're not plowing through only the main objectives, it takes a while to get there.
The story and writing is cliche and cheesy, but it's not annoying in any way, and the game is quite fun to plow through... pretty much literally.
I did encounter a few bugs or issues though. Aiming doesn't do what you want it to do 100%, especially with the mouse, but you're practically unstoppable anyways, so it's a minor annoyance rather than a deadly issue. Also, there's 1 room with a turret that you can use on the left that you can use and shoot the enemies in a 3rd person perspective, and then a save room on the right with no other exit. Reload on that save and the other room is full of enemies again (though not as much as the original turret spree), but the turret is on the left side of the room while you're on the right. A bit of a pain when you first get there and don't have a lot of health/resistance, but escapable. There's a bunch of places that have some slightly poor level design, but things that aren't friendly with the side angle camera and things you can't see. Not sure why that's even an issue. But mostly it's pretty good. One other issue though, that apparently was an issue in the original, not sure why they didn't fix for the remaster, is that the map is not programmed to recognize more than 1 collectible items (or etc) per section/square. What happens is if you collect one, the map updates and marks it as there being nothing left in that section. There's at least 1 pass key and 1 rocket pack that I had look up online specifically because they wouldn't show on the map because I had collected the other item in the section (or because it was in the same section as a save room). Also, I had some moments where the grapple wouldn't like where I tried to shoot it and the guy became a spaghetti man for a couple seconds.
I'm not completely sure if they should have called it a remaster though, because I'd be surprised if they did any texture work on it. Not usually an issue from the zoomed out 2D perspective, but low quality textures visible on the large bosses and character models.
