Indeed - there is a fair amount of shock around still. Secret Sorcery the independent studio formed from Studio Liverpool and the first group from Evolution might be an option for the last of Evolution. Anyway, they will make an announcement at E3.

Maybe a "spiritual successor "?

Well the funny thing is that "spiritual" successors tend to come from the original devs because they can't use the original IP. But again, I have no idea who's where right now.

Quite late on the confirmation, I know but yes, DCVR will be out as a separate title, including five new urban tracks. The Evolution team were called back by Sony to complete their VR work. Sounds like owners of the original will get a discount on the VR version.
The five new tracks will appear as a free download for the regular game also.

Thanks for that info. I was wondering if the while game would playable I'm VR or just a few tracks. A separate title makes clear sense. I think it's included on the demo disc..I am excited to try it and will definitely consider the VR version, or if the difference makes sense, then both versions. .

No worries Space.
I'd forgotten that a demo will be on the VR release disc. If you do like and get the VR version, you'll have access to all that the original game has. No news yet as to whether or not the VR version will have the DLC included on disc or not.
Anyway, one point worth mentioning is that aspects of the background details will be simplified a little and field count for both SP and MP also need to be reduced from 12 to 8 to facilitate the boost to 60fps base rate required for VR. There was a third alteration, though I can't recall it right now - will post it up later.
Unfortunately I can't get VR just yet, not until Thyri has had a chance to try it out (she has occasional vertigo bouts that can incapacitate her for a few days at a time - so you can imagine)

And of course they now announce a release date of October 13th. If that means the regular version gets it's new tracks patch at the same time then I'm happy. With over 17,000 pictures taken, I need new things to look at

Ooh well i hope I don't get I'll using vr, preordered it without even trying it yet lol.
Man the dcvr seems like a nice full game they announced. Pretty psyched even just for cruise control and passenger mode let alone all the tracks and racing!
There's mention of a duscount in the VR game if yiy have the season pass. I wish they would say what the discount will be. Vr game with preorder amazon discount is like $32. I can get core game plus season pass for that, how much more then to get VR. But probably not a huge discount, no more than 10% prob, so another $36...probably just get the vr. It's on demo disc too, but I imagine I will want thus it seems perfect for vr.
If only my old wheel would work on ps4...

Yeah, I'd go for the VR title if you like what the demo gives you. The original game is (or will be soon) cheap again in the US and is only really advantageous if you want the extended car roster of 117 as opposed to 80 - but there again, a few of those would take quite some time to unlock I wouldn't worry about the vertigo - it's a condition that Thyri has which is rare enough and stays mainly under control.
