Thanks yeah I went ahead and preordered the vr version, that 20% discount at Amazon is really enticing. Seems like the best full fledged game for psvr and it should be lots of fun to take turns with the family.

Ok so I couldn't help myself. I bought the thrustmaster t150 pro version from gamestop. Basically the t150 but comes with the clutch pedal. Also bought Project Cars used for $18. Going to try them both out this weekend. Then even without trying the wheel or any of these racing games I ordered the optional shifter, though I did use a gift card so no cash, but it is backordered. So maybe by Nov I can race in VR with a mannual transmission, clutch and all... or I just wasted some money.

Dang, you got all of it... I do miss using a sequential shifter just for boost in The Crew.... haha Which shifter? My main complaint with Thrustmaster is the lack of carpet gripping on the bottom of the pedals (which Logitech pedals have) along with an overly strong brake pedal spring, causing you to tilt the pedal base backwards because it's not screwed down.... Otherwise, my wheel is mostly ok. The huge feedback strength increase was very welcome over my old Logitech. Though sometimes I do get it to hit cooldown mode at times, which it does automatically once it hits its temperature limit. Oh, but I do have to tighten the clamp frequently, which isn't quite as easy as the Logitechs either. It's grip is rather slick on my desk. Hmm, I wonder..... I wonder if you should hook it up to your PC first and install the software to get the firmware updated before you start using with the PS4? Ooh, maybe you should try out DiRT Rally as well... That's pretty great.

Yeah I kind of went overboard but hey, no half measures right? It's the TH8A shifter. I hope that it feels realish with the clutch and all. I'm hoping that with all that and drive club vr it'll be quite the experience!
I'll look into dirt rally. I'm sure I read the pedals have carpet grip, sure hope so!!

All mine had were little foam/rubber pads. That doesn't count!
(lol I just got another $18 from Project Cars.... I honestly thought they would've stopped by now....)

So we tried it out and yes the pedal platform only has rubber squares nothing digs into the carpet. It wasn't really slipping but then we weren't driving really hard I guess. Took turns with the kids so I only got a few chances. First impression is I think the force feedback seemed better in the old Driving Force GT, but that could be my memory fondly. Also might need to do the calibration again.
Worked well enough though and I think the pedals felt better with nice resistance. We just did some practice drives and I did one quick race (AI). Of course it's the classic problem of coming into turns too fast and the brakes seeming to work slower than you expect, but perhaps it's realistic in how much time it takes to slow down from over 100 mph.
Looking forward to more with it.

Does it have a force feedback meter in the game? On the PC control panel for it, you can amplify it, if you like it that way.
Another thing I like about it... It's a hell of a lot quieter than the Driving Force Pro! (and gives me much stronger feedback than it had, until it hits cooldown mode of course).

Well isave seller through walmart.com came through and delivered the shifter yesterday, earlier than even theor last estimate.
Clamps really nice next to the wheel on the table we're using. Massive pedal slippage now when using the clutch too, but I think I got it fixed by placing the drawer from the table between the pedals and legs, kind of wedging it. I didn't try it with that but it looked like it worked with my daughter trying it.
The shifter is big and beautiful, very solid. Feels great shifting, of course you don't have exactly the real thing, but it can be quite close, way closer than the sequential shifting options!
Can't wait to try more especially with DCVR, but more races on project cars sounds good too.

Unfortunate. I should actually get back to DriveClub. With GT7 in VR I felt I don't want flat screen driving again, but it's been fun on Motorfest, so I should really do some more DriveClub too. DriveClub VR was of course awesome, but I'm not sure if it works with PSVR2.
