This track is by far the nuttiest, but I've been doing the little trick cuts for a long time now, though the track is still very difficult. But this shortcut is new to me and apparently it's actually an official shortcut (somehow and, now anyways) because there's actually rings here in its Ring Rally.
After 0:45
That is nuts.
I'm going to try to get better at building up blue flame from the jump before the finish line (to be honest, for a long time I didn't even notice that it was a blue flame pad for a long time because I always went at it with no reserves because that sharp corner and then straight sucks, not to mention the damned statues). But with those awkward ramps AFTER the starting line, I think I can still count on one hand the number of times times that I've cleared the dip in front of the flame statue.

WELP ..... The next Grand Prix is actually the last. BUT..... blog.activision.com/crash-bandicoot/2020-02/The-Victory-Lap-for-Crash-Team-Racing-Nitro-Fueleds-Grand-PrixThe Challenges will continue (All except Themed (even monthly's are staying surprisingly)), now earning Wumpa Coins instead. The Pit Stop can be refreshed by the player twice a day. OMFG.......... They're adding "Beenox" Time Trails ABOVE Oxide...... With a special reward. (internally crying, like.... oh no) AND.... They will still be adding cosmetics, EVEN CHARACTERS! So I guess the only thing that's.... probably confirmed to be stopping is new tracks? I guess? (Also, Interesting, it took me a second look, but these given screenshots are actually just earlier iterations of their released tracks.)
The statistics image they show says 51 characters, so only 1 new character again in the next GP? It's gotta be Fake Velo... right? what if that's a "skin" instead? lol
It also says 40 tracks, but people are confused with Retro Stadium (currently) being a PS exclusive if we'll have an even number for a final Cup so every track is in one. (Oh man, are they gonna screw this up again? yikes)

So apparently in just the cutscenes (Grand Prix video?), Velo has orange hair. I didn't entirely catch that originally, but that was an inconsistency in CNK that they did again here. lol neat. Is it a different unlockable skin, though?
Time for some pain, I guess.... Word has it the new track is technical like Oxide Station (finally). We'll have to see.

Well so much for that. Got permanently stuck in a lobby that I couldn't leave again. I got 2 runs on the new track, though. It's pretty crazy. And rather ugly as well. At the moment it seems like a lot of single u-turn hops are required. I'm kind of fearing that it'll be really hard to tell exactly where you are on the track this time. It's very samey-looking and extremely twisty. I remember wishing the 1st/2nd turn of Gingerbread Joyride had a (more) visible sign to tell you that it's a full u-turn because I would forget that a lot originally, because that's a left before the starting line to a straight then a non-descript full-uturn after that. And you kind of have to remember that's the case. With this one, I haven't had much time with it, but it looks like there's perhaps a ton of shortcut hops to take and yet seeing beyond them looks like it's blind? Not that landing them is an issue, but telling where the hell you are on the track and where you actually need to do a shortcut before you end up.... not doing it. Which is bad. Again, it's extremely twisty, you aren't powersliding many parts of this... until I figure out how to actually get through this, which is probably a lot of cuts.
Again, I am very novice at this track for now, but I do not see it being very popular after this month, like Oxide Station isn't very popular (sadly). But it's also very ugly.
(Man, really? They've added an "Xfinity" kart as a well. )

So the new track is kind of neat actually, once you learn it. It's still ugly as hell though. And it's already not seeming to be that popular, though might just be who I matched up with. The biggest shortcut is pretty sneaky (easiest seen with Oxide's ghost). This shortcut also makes the weirdest curve in the game pointless (and sucky for those who haven't found the shortcut there). The shortcut can be a little scary though. Leading up to it makes you a little nervous, but then whilst taking the jump, there's a rather mean wall on the bottom left that you have to hope you don't hit (and it's not like it's very avoidable if you didn't go through the whole bit precisely). Then there's a hidden side route, which I'm glad I noticed by catching a glimpse of it over a left barrier while playing the track the first times. It takes some speed to reach, though, but then it's real fast. Then the track gets super downwards and wonky. There's this weird pillar with a gap through it on the left, that I almost wouldn't even call a shortcut. ? It's weird because at speed it requires an airbrake turn exiting it (not entering it). Otherwise it just points you straight off the track into space. And yes, it's there, but you know pretty well whether you're going to take it our not, because your driving line when you get to it tells you whether you should take it or not, otherwise you stay on the track, which isn't even any longer than going through the pillar. But then right after it, with little difference in whether you took the pillar or not, You could cut sharp down to the left to cut the last weird corner. It's pretty easy to do, but scary looking at it. Then there's the strange 2 forcefield triggers at the very start of the track. So far all I know/believe is that they turn on or off the 2 sets of little boost pads on the track. But these frocefield triggers change colors when passed through, except I can't tell in what manner. So far I tried a basic test of driving through one and back and through it again, but nothing happened the second time. The first time it made both the same color of the one I passed through. I don't know. I'm gonna have to figure out if they're truly critical or not, which so far they don't really seem to be, particularly if you've blue flame. But with weapons and high-end players in play, it might be important. Unfortunately, I doubt I'll be able to figure out exactly how it works and what I should do while I'm actually playing online. It's fast and things can probably get crazy. So they've still kept the "I Hate Crates!" challenge.... UGH! Why! I don't know yet, but they could have retired the "Wumpa-a-Day" challenge, yet the wumpa coin crates are still a thing. But also, they've made the challenge that required you to play an online race as a specific character to it now requiring that you actually win a race online. That could be extremely frustrating. Though the matchmaking has again been questionable today. Got put with a full set of higher-end players today, which was actually kind of fun. Which isn't unusual, but it's rare to have a full set of 8 good players, which ended up with me getting mariokarted to 8th place. There's almost always someone behind me, if not a bot. Then after that I got put in a couple lobbies where I was way ahead and won 2 races by like over 10 seconds. Like, really? I had at least 2 lobby drops where didn't match me ever, nor time out. And player loadouts seem to be taking an extremely long time to load now. With every update I'm fearing that it's getting worse and worse until for some reason it won't match me ever again. And yet I'll be the only one with this problem. WHY. My internet tests are not showing too bad things. (Crappy, yes, but not non-functional, as far as I can tell.)

Sewer Speedway dev time is probably going to be excruciating. The Velo time is beatable with Speed with a little extra effort, but not by much. You're definitely going to have to do what you think is "better than a perfect run" to beat whatever the dev time is going to be. (I'm surprised that somebody beat Velo with Turn, but extremely close.)

OMG, Roo's Tubes is even worse! I almost can't see it being possible to beat Velo by over a full second. Certainly not 2...
Are the dev times really going to be better?... (It would be pretty hilarious if their times were like... between N. Tropy and Oxide's time... but no. Though, what if their times aren't all better than Velo's? That doesn't really make sense either.)
Roo's Tubes really shows how important it is to take corners as tight as possible to keep cutting your time down. But you also need to not waste too much of your reserves because the off-track shortcuts, which many tracks have, cut it down so quickly. It goes beyond that, too.

Why yes, hitting that 1 boost pad on Papu's Pyramid correctly even the 1 time needed is still infuriating.

lol Somebody might've figured out what the Beenox Dev Time reward could possibly be. Apparently Beenox used to have a mascot.....
Besides it being a suit on a human, that is literally Geary.
You know what would the really frickin cool? If they gave this (somehow) to every single character. That would be crazy, but that wouldn't happen. But people would be upset if it's just for Geary, I would think.
Velo is surprisingly "easy" to beat on Polar Pass. Yes, he takes the "basic" water shortcut each time, which can make it more likely that you'll lose flame before you get to the wall, and of course that damned water shortcut is extremely unreliable and sketchy in the first place. But he doesn't hold Blue Flame for long after the figure-8 which is of course (rather arguably) the hardest part of the track. Actually, I didn't even really hold Blue Fire either AND didn't even take the water shortcut on the 2nd lap and I still beat him, barely (with a Speed character).
Pending dev times are still quite scary, though.

Velo is beatable on Tiny Arena with a perfect Turn Character run (so that's nice?).

Velo is pretty tough on Dragon Mines, even with an Acceleration character.

lol Wow.... Velo doesn't even take the wall shortcut on Blizzard Bluff. Like seriously, wow....
But I believe he does take the first corner shortcut (though not on the first lap).
I beat him with a Speed character by taking the wall shortcut once (because taking it 3 times is extremely difficult) and luckily getting 1 good cut on the first corner.

Ohmygod.... Apparently Acceleration is the way to beat Velo on Hot Air Skyway. I didn't even beat him with a good Turn character run, even though he messes up repeatedly on the spiral. But you can see why, because everything you do along a really fast Acceleration character run on that track feels sketchy as hell (and I didn't think it would be that weird, as Acceleration is usually ideal, but this time wasn't fun). The thing that was really odd (and I thought it was funny that Velo was messing up on the spiral, but then not so much) is that he was taking and coming out of the last u-turn shortcut extremely quickly. Like, EXTREMELY quickly... out and beyond the finish line. Well guess what? I think I realized that Acceleration helps you out of big Airbrake/u-turns as well! Like WOW! Like, even better than doing as Speed! (probably?) That's crazy! I mean, that's like perhaps easily the best example of that in the game. I guess it could be good for the Papu's Pyramid airbrake cut as well, but it's a way bigger deal on Hot Air Skyway.
wow
It's too bad Acceleration handling is pretty scary along pretty much the entire rest of the track, because of it's kind-of lack of turning ability as well as the timing that's set out for you through the entire track, which is normally fine and dandy for the most part.
