Holy SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT! DRAGON MINES IS FINALLY BEHIND ME!!! It has one of, if not the most difficult shortcut in the entire game of 40* tracks. (Though I still have I'm pretty sure most of them to go.) This shortcut is through an extremely narrow space - on a surface & upslope that slows you down where both the entrance and exits are at extremely horrible angles WITH A GAP AT THE END and an extremely narrow landing space. And just to be an asshole on top of that, a minecart that passes through it that is a problem on the first lap because you get stuck behind it and can't go too fast through this shortcut you would want to be going through as fast as possible, but it holds you back on the first lap WHICH IS THE HARDEST LAP TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE SHORTCUT ON! It's pretty much every awful thing combined right into 1 extremely narrow shortcut (with horrible angles, slowdown, and a gap at the end). Thank frick that's over.

I just saw someone say that HDR, at least on PS4 causes additional input lag in CTR.
I don't even have an HDR display, so....

Acceleration this time. Hard. I lost by .01 earlier (the Coco ghost).

It is really deceptive how important boost management is on this track. There's so many great places to cut corners, or take a fast straight, until you get towards the end of the race and are like wtf..... when you run out of reserves. But really, this one is pretty easy.

Oxide Station!!! YEEEEESSSS!!!!!!!!!
(Why does Youtube have to absolutely destroy 720p now)
I still have almost all of Nitro Kart to go, except for 2. (Thank god I've already done Out of Time. I've already done the Bonus tracks.) I'm really not looking forward to Deep Sea Driving.

lol, the time for the Inferno Island trial was less than a second faster than the time I beat Velo with. So yeah.... rather easy to beat with a Speed character. (Not so much with the others.)
What's strange is that even though you're up against King Chicken, it's not William this time. (Though maybe not the first time that's been the case.) At least it wasn't like Crash Cove.

This one would've been really easy just being super aggressive, except for the fact that the 2 shortcuts are such a huge problem for Speed characters.

lol Finally a "tied" victory. The ghost appears ahead of where it actually is for some reason - The original was like that too.
The game shows you times at .00, but it does actually count finer than that. I'm glad these last 3 have been so easy, relatively. But Deep Sea Driving is going to be hell no matter what, whenever that is.

Android Alley, another one like N. Gin Labs where boost management is deceptively important, because there's a lot of great ways to get through it faster, but will drain your reserves and/or cause you to mess up your next powerslide, or you'll just run out at some place unexpected on the 3rd lap. But in the end, it's not so hard.

Electron Avenue Of course Youtube DESTROYED the video..... I was hoping that they'd take it easy on your for this, but they really don't.... But they do fuck up majorly at the end of the 2nd lap. It only hurts them by a couple second time-wise though. Cutting corners down tight is of course major in this track. Especially the last crazy section, and even the section AFTER the shortcut, which can really help you out. (And of course taking the first long left curves tight is obvious.) But also, I'm still actually not entirely sure, but the long blue boost strips might not actually be Blue Fire. But whatever they actually are, tapping the wall (or even jumping) can majorly cut down your speed of getting through there. You can do it much faster than the developer does. Also, don't be afraid that you'll lose reserves there. In that first tunnel specifically is not the place to be worried about that - especially because the section after that is so "easy".

Holy crap, I cannot believe that the blades were not nearly as hard as I thought they were.... especially with how hard they were back when beating Velo. (But.... they're still kinda sucky.)
I had already learned back at racing Velo that with a Speed character, you should enter and start the pipe differently than you might think. Meaning, do not jump off of the ramp that sends you into the pipe. Drop and do a (middle) right powerslide instead (or maybe even have one going off the jump itself). If you do other things, you'll end up in the outer edge and get stopped.
Also, unless you're forced to, don't bother cutting the pipe corners tightly because that forces you into 1 spot when reaching blades. (Meaning, don't make it harder or yourself.) You actually don't even need to powerslide through any of the pipe blades and adjust your alignment while driving straight instead. It's again not particularly advised that you bother powersliding through the last 2 blades. But.... You do need some powerslides somewhere in the pipes to get you through to the end and also land the finish line stretch with reserves. (And the pads inside the pipe aren't blue fire, besides the last big one.) But again, each lap you can lose a lot of reserve and it doesn't matter that much. Leaving mostly the blades as the major nemesis.
That's what I learned doing this again. There's so many boost pads that you even pretty much shouldn't powerslide along the entire long left curve at the middle section of the track. You can also not jump at the left hill crest through that section to cut the corner down farther. But you hop all the way through there (besides that 1 crest) and the boost pads will send you all the way through - pretty much no problem.
The dev's time still isn't really kind, though. You gotta work out how to beat him.

No shortcut. Thunder Struck is insanely evil. So much so that apparently they left it with a dev time that didn't use the shortcut at all. I used the shortcut plenty of times, but boost reserves are still a problem, even when you take it well. And even without it, the dev ran out of reserve at the very end, as do I.
There are so many god damned evil parts about this track.
