Destiny Crimson Days Valentine's Day event goes for a week starting Feb 9th. New 2v2 PvP mode but they say the event will be about the scale of the Halloween event, which means... not all that big. www.bungie.net/pubassets/51726/crimson_tower_blog.jpgAlso, Iron Banner will be back already next week, but this time it's Rift.

Crimson Doubles is out. Pretty much useless if you don't have 1 person to play with. No matchmaking because thanks Bungie.

Destiny will be getting a small-ish Spring update which will give a "significant" increase to the light cap as well as more weapons and gear (I'm sure they're still all reskins, so whatever...) as well as PvE content (though I'd be surprised if there's much in the way of actual new areas.
But, the new info is that there actually is a larger expansion later in the year, and Destiny "2" is next year. (Though we already knew the next one was pushed to 2017).

Sigh.... lol... I have been very very bad at my game management. Especially the last couple weeks. Alternated between the BF1 alpha and the TF2 update (which honestly isn't much of an update so far). Though I did get INSIDE played in there, which... I wasn't so happy about in the end. And Wednesday Hearthstone. Other than that... nothin'. I've got Witcher, which has gotten a severe lack of play for what it deserves, among an obnoxious pile of games in my 'actively played' pile that can rarely be touched because of the actual size. By my own fault... DiRT Rally too, which deserves more play. And I'm gonna be gone for a loooong time when No Man's Sky comes out... At which point I might finally force myself to drop some of the fluff games in here that aren't games that can ever be completed. But really, that might only be Boundless/Oort (which... isn't even frickin' done yet), Minecraft, H1Z1 and Planetside I'm unsure about and Landmark I need to check out again because I haven't gotten to play it in a very long time (and EQ NEXT is gone). And those are only the ones I might be willing to drop... With BF1, I'm ok with dropping BF4, BFH and Battlefront. And get some frickin' hard drive space back.... GTA, I'm conflicted again.... There might be some little signs of them making some changes to make it less of a time wasting abuser. Either that or they're completely hiding the old content in the background, making it even harder to find someone to play them with. If they make a consolidated single spot on the map for the old content, like they've done with the new content (while hiding all the old stuff that was spread across the map), then just maybe that could help. If not.... I might have to say I'm too annoyed with it and done, but... with the way they're doing stuff now, I might still be annoyed that it's so difficult to get to play the old stuff, but it may be easier to play the new stuff... ehhh... And as for Destiny.... I'm not quite sure what I'm gonna do. And the assholes put a pre-order bonus for the coming expansion of course... And of course it's the return of an item that was previously made obsolete... because frickin' MMOs are abusive that way.... Still annoyed that there's no in-game matchmaking for Raids (However.... knowing how GTA Heists have gone, I... can understand why, even if it's still annoying.) Then there's simply the time to complete just the 'content' that's available to me outside of Raids and stuff I can't reasonably do alone. As far as I can tell I still have a significant amount from the last free expansion that I can do... yet have only picked a little away at because of how often I actually get to it. And there's also a chance that some of it might get wiped out because of the next expansion or the next "game" release. Not to mention the rewards becoming obsolete, but again... sadly that's expected. (Seriously though.... What is the reasoning behind erasing old missions? You don't want your game to feel too big and can't squeeze the content into the new curve, is that it?... I honestly don't know why...) The question for me is... Do I maybe preorder this last expansion of this "game" (before the next full release) because of the damned preorder bonus, or do I not until I ever reasonably complete what I still have?... Which there is a chance of actually getting wiped out because... they're jerks or something, leaving me with not much left other than to just buy the damned expansion or quit. - Last expansion to buy and then see if I ever complete most of that stuff by the next game? and if not, stop? or... don't preorder this expansion and hope they don't wipe out what we currently have... (even though the rewards will become obsolete because that's how this frickin' thing works.....) sigh.... Could be an interesting Fall period of change....

Some major unconfirmed reports coming from Destiny. kotaku.com/sources-destiny-2-coming-to-pc-aims-to-feel-like-a-to-1787153460Destiny has already dumped last generation with this new update. I actually wasn't expecting it to go to PC with Destiny 2 because they've always been doing exclusive content with Sony, including with this new expansion, though maybe that will continue. Anyways, looks like Destiny 2 is actually coming to PC. But further than that.... We only have vague information, but Kotaku seems to think that Destiny 2 is not an expansion in any form, dumping the old locations, while new locations will be more expansive, with villages/towns and stuff. So.... basically increasing up to the scale of usual MMOs. They also state old characters being left behind. Kotaku wonders if this could include player's characters being left behind, but I would think they just mean we're getting new main NPCs with new voice actors to get quests from and all that. As for the whole PC thing.... I feel like I won't feel so great about getting it for PC. Why? Because I think I'll have the same negative effect I've had since I went from Bad Company 2 on console to future Battlefields on PC. Something about certain shooters feels better on console, plus controller rumble is a big factor in this game. You lose that completely on PC. The lack of rumble, and twitch aiming a mouse, feels less awesome than a controller... even if it's a lot harder to get on point with a controller in high action. But it depends on the shooter. I wouldn't be able to play TF2 on console, and console shooters lose something when you make the switch over to a mouse. But... I could have more of a chance of having someone to play with on PC. Then again, getting 6 people for the raids is probably still pretty unlikely for me. But solo in this game all the time gets pretty lonely... and it doesn't help that you're pretty much locked out of a lot of content if you're playing solo. I don't know....

Effective Tuesday, already the light level cap is being raised to 400, just a couple weeks after it was raised to 350 with the new expansion. Maximum light rewards are of course being raised in general, particularly for the higher end parts of the game, as usual (though a lot sooner than normal). However, the light requirements for most existing missions are staying the same, except for the new Nightfall Strike and I'm sure the Heroic version of the raid which is launching as well. You know, if Destiny/Bungie has a 10-year contract, we're kind of getting ahead of ourselves.... (not that it matters AT ALL.....)

Wait whaaaaaat?.... They're the ones making the Crash trilogy remake... (and now the Skylanders stuff). (need a better raised eyebrow smiley...) It's... strange how I feel so familiar with their name even though they've only done a ton of Nintendo handheld stuff in the past, though they've been around since '96. Though they did Nitro Kart on all systems, which actually was not bad, despite being too slow at the base speed. They did the Crash and Spyro GBA crossovers as well. Thank god they didn't do Tag Team Racing....

There's another secret sparrow to be found in this event. You get it by finding a new ghost on Bannerfall, go back to the tower, and there's another present well hidden directly under the FWC room (not down in the club). The sad thing is, so far it looks like a boring old sparrow and it's Legendary... while the Grimoire card says it's Exotic. People are still wondering if there's a way of making it Exotic, but somehow... I doubt it.
There's also floating sphere lanterns in the main area that you can carry around and a giant glowing... snowflake-like decoration thing up in the back. People are wondering if these do anything if used properly with enough people, but no confirmation yet.
I probably should look up the Bells secret from back in the Rise of Iron expansion, but I'm sure you need like 6 people to trigger it. God damnit, Bungie....
