Funny.. haven't started yet, might soon though. Doing 2 simultaneous playthroughs of Until Dawn, one on my own and a slower going one with my wife calling the shots.
Been super busy and distracted thus last week, sorry u haven't been posting anything...
I gotta save money where I can, but currently I'm rather enjoying the game... despite the main menu issues on PC. (Resolution doesn't stick and most of the time the audio doesn't work until... you modify and apply the resolution setting ). As someone who explores everything, the first 3 zones started to drag, but the next one was full of a crazy amount of canyons and tunnels and honestly there's so many aspects to the world this world design that I notice and appreciate... even though it is just a desert. Yes, it's "just a desert..." but it's not half-assed.
Yes, the handling felt a little troublesome at first, but as you play you realize that vehicle stats do make a significant difference in how the car handles on sand and dropping off cliffs. Plus, there's the packed down sand roads (fastest), regular sand (slower, though not as ridiculous as the speed drop-off in FUEL) and PLUS the collapsed sand and sandy rocks along the sides of every cliff and hill, which take up a huge portion of the environment and slow you down the most. You can even smash through the the (supposedly) sandy rocks that crumble when you smash through them.
It might feel strange for a while at first, but your vehicle handles like it's on deep sand. Not really like you're drifting down a rally track. And I learned to appreciate it. Plus, your car can bottom out when going over a drop and cause you to spin out. And does-so easily at the start before you've upgraded your suspension or in lower-riding vehicles that you find.
However, the thing that's annoying me though (other than the minorly buggy garage menu) is that if you leave the stronghold in a vehicle that you've collected... Chumbucket who stays with your "Magnum Opus" at all times does leave the stronghold. He's not there to repair your vehicle (ok, fine. More of a challenge, which I'm actually happy with, BUT usually you can signal him with a flare for him to pick you up. If you LEAVE the stronghold with a different vehicle... you cannot do this... even though you can do this normally throughout the game... because he has not gone outside of the stronghold. And it's one or the other, you can't exit with multiple vehicles. And even though being able to signal Chumbucket cuts down on the challenge, it is not an option if you take out another vehicle. And that alone feels like the game is almost discouraging you from using other vehicles..... Maybe on purpose, maybe not??
But ON TOP of that... there's the "Archangels" that you can construct by putting the right parts on your Magnum Opus (not including the sniper rifle or grapple). Whether or not this actually gives you a bonus I don't know because it doesn't say or I accidentally missed tool-tip. THE PROBLEM is... to build (at least the first) Archangel, which I haven't even completed yet... if you've explored a lot, you have to put on parts... that are worse than what you may have unlocked already... W-why.... Why are you discouraging customization? Now, if I find out there's no actual bonus to using an Archangel, then I'm probably gonna go "screw this" and just go with the best parts I got, which I can do. In the normal garage menu it marks which parts are wrong for the Archangel, however, in the actual Archangel menu I think it indicates which parts you actually don't even have, so you can ignore the indicators on the normal garage page. At least I think, so that's good... It's just the menus are kind of confusing, especially the garage menus, which can also be buggy.
I mean... I guess it makes sense, but it just feels odd that the Archangels that are implied that you're supposed to be striving for are potentially worse than what you are actually able to build (again I don't know if there's a bonus for making them yet).
Encourage or discourage customization and different vehicle usage? What are you trying to do? It makes me wonder whether these two issues were intentional or just a product of putting the game together and not really seeing that this happened for the final release.

He looked at it like "What is this?..." in amused confusion...
Also, I just found out, after building the "reveal all scavenging locations" project in Jeet's stronghold, that scavenging locations are not included on the checklists when looking at zones on the map. I guess because they're technically not part of lowering the threat levels. But they're probably still part of the 100%. Just a little annoying that you have to double check (or more) the zones closely when you reveal them or have them revealed because just looking at the checklist for a zone is no help with these. Just a minor thing to know if you're a completionist.

In addition to this, there’s a number of general fixes, for both graphics and audio, along with a number of specific updates for 64-bit Windows users. Enjoy all the nitty gritty in the full patch notes, below.

Improved auto-aim target prioritization. Fixed various audio issues. Made various GUI fixes and improvements. Fixed several instances of the map not loading correctly. Made various mission flow fixes and improvements. This includes retroactively resolving a conditional mission flow blocker that was happening to some players trying to install the Baby Bars during the Wasteland Classic mission after the mission flow had been interrupted. General bug fixes.
Win64 Specific Updates:
Fixed instances of graphics options resetting to default upon the game loading for some users. Fixed an issue which caused the Harpoon to not work correctly on triple monitor setups, and with larger aspect ratios. Fixed several keyboard entry issues with the WBPlay Menu screen. Hah the patch came out at the perfect time because my wasteland classic mission appeared to be glitching but then again I wasn't in the silly archangel menu so whi knows, I knew what to do from reading posts too.
Quite late at getting this, due to one thing and another. Predictably very impressed with the photo mode - what I was really surprised by, the storms...took me back to that race in FUEL
Anyway, still pottering around Jeet's Territory and having fun.
