Recore looked kind of interesting. (lol... was that how Dog was made?...) lol He sure was happy about that Backwards Compatibility announcement. Revenge of course. Ha: "We won't charge you to play the games you already own." At least the mods for Fallout 4 on XBone are free. Charging for Minecraft skins, which have always been free and simple to use on PC, yet you are charged for them on Xbox... and PS.

At least the mods for Fallout 4 on XBone are free. Charging for Minecraft skins, which have always been free and simple to use on PC, yet you are charged for them on Xbox... and PS. Haha ok... The screaming goat in the PvZ trailer was good. GW has been pretty much the only cartoon shooter that has me actually interested in it other than TF2. Hell, I own it now because of PS+... but it's still highly unlikely that I'm gonna play it... EA Access still isn't very enticing... but it's obvious that this is EA's PS+ competitor, which is kind of an interesting situation in itself, but also that Microsoft has grabbed onto it, so... it's meant to be their competitor as well... Unfortunately for them, perhaps, is that it isn't so great so far. They announced Titanfall (obviously too late) and Inquisition is probably its first heavy hitter, but even if I did had access to it, this is hardly a deal for me or probably most consumers so far. (And of course extremely bloated gamer backlogs is only going to hurt it). I've seen quite a lot of Rainbow Six Siege gameplay, and it looks like it's going to be a really well done game. If you're into that kind of gameplay. Sadly, it's not my kind of gameplay. Extremely short "save the hostage" rounds aren't for me, but it still looks cool. I might have already mentioned that I've had access to the Gigantic alpha or beta for a long time. Unfortunately not a gameplay style that's for me. I mean... it's mildly fun, but it's not a gameplay loop that will interest me for very long at all. Game Preview.... Steam Early Access. Hoo boy.... But DayZ oh snap. But still way too early. And... Dean Hall... No longer with DayZ, shows up... with no info on ION. I hope he doesn't become the next Peter Molyneux. But he won't give a fuck about the backlash. Ugh.... It's so sad that these Tomb Raiders hardly interest me at all... Too much emphasis on spectacle and action. "Look it, isn't this thing awesome?! LOOK! LOOK!!! YOU WILL THINK THIS IS AWESOME!" Well, Rare is back. It took too long, according to the fans, but at least it's back. Though I never played any of their old games except for a tiny bit of DK of course. lol I thought Fable Legends was a reveal of Project Spark 2... lol Ok... So Microsoft is in bed with Oculus and Valve (at least with the API?).... Good on them I guess. Streaming games to a VR headset... even though it gets rid of wires.... sounds like baaad choice..... This Minecraft Hololense presentation is pretty nuts.... if it really does work well.

Ew... Did you see how close that camera kept zooming in in the NFS gameplay?.... Pretty sure I'm still sticking with The Crew which will never end (until they shut it down). The new NFS not having first person feels really far behind for me at this point... I'm going to be waiting for Mirror's Edge to be a discount, if I ever actually get it. Of course I'm getting Battefront still. It looks fairly decent. 24 less players has me worried though. I mean, that's dang significant. A little bit more than BC, but I generally play 64. The stupidly tight maps from BF3/4 were more bearable with 32, but still. The effects of the bubble shield getting hit by the airstrike was pretty cool. I wasn't able to see closely enough, but I wonder if the footprints in the snow (including from vehicles) is dynamic or not. Also, I thought I saw some ground panels in the dugout trenches pop in or something and did a doubletake, but I really don't know what I saw or what happened. Maybe a tad disappointing that the inside of the fighters doesn't look like much more than first person in a tank from BF4... when the camera glitches backwards into it. Looks like 3rd person flight will be at even more of an advantage than in BF perhaps. I sure hope hardcore is or can be locked to first person only. Also rifle at the start use a scope, so that's still there. I might have to miss a lot of the end of the Ubisoft conference... if they go late like everyone else keeps doing. It's gonna suck so bad if BG&E2 makes an appearance right at the end... Listening to a Todd Howard (Bethesda) interview right now. It always cracks me up that he could really be a Ratchet replacement... Their voices are so extremely similar. I want to see Todd and James Arnold Taylor talk to each other so bad...

For Honor looked pretty cool. Though... it's like Chivalry with a little bit of a twist... and less players, but loaded with bots. But honestly... it actually seems more exciting. 0.0 That Crew reveal.... hot damn...... That was more than I expected. And a graphics overhaul wow. (That part I'm sure will be free, duh.) (It's down to 300+ players on Steam though (not including the Uplay purchasers)) XD Trials Fusion is doing something as crazy as Blood Dragon! I wish the previews weren't so scripted, but Division does look kinda cool. Highly requires communication though, so... I might be out.

Not overly thrilled with what I saw on the Sony conference. Not sure what came before The Last Guardian, but that's where I started watching. Ok, so it's alive and coming next year, that's good, but the gameplay snippet wasn't overly exciting (seemed like an "old" game I guess) and the kid yelling was really annoying. Anyways, I'm sure I'll get it, I'm happy it's coming, but nothing too super exciting from the video. I'm not really feeling No Man's Sky much either, I think it might get boring quickly, even with the space fighting I just don't know if I'll care enough to shoot things. Horizon looked pretty good, though we thought she talked too much too, but overall i got an Enslaved vibe with fighting the mechs and I liked the look so yeah I'm in on that one. I didn't get much out of the Dreams thing from MM. Not sure what I want from them, but I don't think it was this. Not sure what else I saw and am forgetting. Pretty unremarkable conference IMO. Even the Morpheus stuff was light and not very exciting.

I just watched the Mirror's Edge trailer, that actually got me pretty excited. I think it looks pretty damn good with a lot of nods to the original.

Yeah, it was kinda disappointing. Last Guardian was the first thing. Graphically, it does look like PS3, which it probably originally was, with the world geometry looking very much like ICO (perhaps a little bit of an outdated feel, but I'm kind of ok with that in this case). Didn't you actually play ICO? The kid calling out was one of the main features of it, even more so than Colossus. Yeah, he pressed it a lot (and kind of excessively), but what I almost found interesting about the person controlling it... is that is almost seemed like the person playing hadn't played the previous games before. And I liked that... even if it maybe was faked. I found it kinda cute. Except that maybe he overly took his time on the crumbling stone walkway too much (because the crumbling was slow). The only thing that I noticed that I didn't really like is that it seemed like animation of the kid climbing on the guardian kept looping or had at least the arms slide downwards (though also the legs) like he never actually was grabbing on and never had any grip. Even in Colossus, the hands stopped and locked where he grabbed. Horizon was a surprise. It's kind of intriguing. I might want to see more on it. One thing that I realized that I've been noticing or paying attention to is... For some reason (even though it's weird for me to say) I'm just finding it more and more silly that characters which are supposed to seem very human... can take so many huge hits, or so many bullets. This goes for Uncharted too. I mean, it's a game and I shouldn't be saying this. I noticed this feeling coming up the last couple years, even though of course it's been the case for ever, but now all of a sudden... ok more so in presentations than when I want to play the game, is that a human taking a hundred bullets or walking off huge explosions just instantly breaks the immersion for me, and laugh at it in my head. I say that, but when I'm playing it myself, I still wouldn't be able to take playing it on extra hard realistic difficulty with 1 shot deaths... But maybe I'm getting there.... I'm not liking No Man's Sky any less than I ever have. I'm still definitely getting it. Just a tad bit disappointing that what was shown was what we've already seen without much more explanation. And that the game this year was treated in the conference as "yeah whatever" by Sony compared to the massive events of previous years. But I forget right now exactly the stuff he listed off as features. He already mentioned the destructible terrain immediately after the last event. At least we got to see what the icons on the planets would look like. I think I'm gonna go find the No Man's Sky segment again when I can. Anyways, he still got a big cheer from the theater audience then he came out. I'm remaining optimistic about Dreams. I am hoping... that you can hopefully make dreams without the dreamy painterly style or particle effects? If so.... and if you can also especially put game mechanics into it.... Then this could have huge potential I think. I just need to see more. Yeah, I wish they weren't so worried about presenting VR game footage on a normal screen. I think they're hurting the hype more by avoiding showing more of what the games look like, even if they aren't being seen in VR. Maybe I was wrong.... but I thought Sony was pushing the anniversary thing still this year. Maybe that was just others (media) and not actually them? Of course there was no Crash reveal. Still unknown I guess if there's actually a separate Playstation Experience event again this year, but that's December perhaps. I have an extra event code if anybody wants it. Disappointingly, it just ended up being Killstrain beta access, $5 credit, a Batman skin, and a weeks access to Shadow of the Colossus streamed on PS Now.... Expires on the 21st, and I guess you don't even get the individual item codes after you redeem it until they are "emailed to you over the next few months." I'm preparing to be disappointed by what I missed of the rest of the Ubisoft conference right now before I check out news sites, so that's what I'm doing. However, both Ubisoft and even Microsoft seemed to have a stronger event than Sony. It's sad how Sony seems to keep pushing its fan favorites to the side for the E3 showing. I overheard that people were looking forward to seeing Ratchet at the showing, but that was already released before the event and didn't even make an appearance at the press conference except in a sizzle reel. No Man's Sky was a short thing this year and and LBP by a new company was a sadly done showing last year. AND WHERE THE HELL IS CRASH! I'm gonna say that... Sony's gotten lucky with the launch... but still seem to prove that they suck at really giving the fans what they want... and also suck at advertising their franchises and other things, especially outside of E3. Comparatively... Microsoft was looking good this year. And don't let EA pass you, Sony... holy hell. lol Ubisoft had its mixed bag of strong moments and weak moments, though even improved from previous years... but the lack of response to the new AC in the theater was of pretty much no surprise. The only thing that people liked and what looked good in the PS AC trailer is that it looks like they might have brought back an emphasis on environmental kills which there was some of back in III. Now they're even more brutal. And they even showed it off with a female character... That wasn't too hard, was it? Again, I have an extra code if anyone wants it.

Of course the the last Ubisoft game wasn't BG&E.... "From a studio in secrecy in France".... Screw you, Guillemot... But oh yeah... Where was WiLD?... I guess I'm not really surprised that it wasn't shown by Sony, it still feels kinda early, but still... Well... Ghost Recon looks kinda fun at least. Though of course it's yet another game mixing Ubisoft open world formulas together. But what will be better in this style? Division or Ghost Recon? Hell, Far Cry 5 will probably be again extremely similar to this. Stop meshing all your games into the same thing, Ubisoft.... Ubisoft open world games by committee.

Woah now, hidden announcement (in the PS pre-show). The new Media Player is out. Looks like only external storage, but also media server support. BUT NO FLAC OF COURSE. blog.eu.playstation.com/2015/06/16/media-player-launches-on-ps4-today/Edit: Just tried it out. It was a bit of pain in the butt to get a Windows media server running, (I don't know why it can't be simpler), but it works. The lack of FLAC really sucks for me however. But I think I did find one bug, at least when using a media server. The controller menu music controls said a broken randomized mp3 name or something and kept that same name with each song. It still worked, but I'd have to open the media player to see the actual name of the song. And, no surprise, it isn't the most intuitively designed app. Oh yeah, I just remembered! The theater crowd surprisingly really cheered when the Vita appeared... in the sizzle reel...... and then nothing. Womp womp.... god damnit, Sony....

Just got to see some new R&C footage. The guy was sucking at the train segment for some reason So he went to the volcanic level from the first game. The area around the landing pad highly resembles the original, but then he went through the circular blast gate to the right (which was in the original) and I thought he would eventually be heading up into the volcano from the original, but it wasn't seen. Soon he actually met with a scientist and was given access to a jetpack to fly all around the level. It had a mix of the original and some new enemies. I guess I forgot that the shark bots were gray and didn't swim underground in that level, unlike the red ones on another planet which do. A lot more of the large turtle-crab creatures this time around. Perhaps even slightly larger.

American Truck Simulator will be shown at the PC Gaming event. It doesn't look like Youtube is covering the PC event at all, which is.... unfortunate. Gotta find it elsewhere? PC Gamer's Twitch channel. I would link, but then it would autoplay... because Twitch can be dumb.
