RetroArch is soon releasing an XBOX One port. It's not allowed on the store, but can be installed with a Developer account (which apparently MS charges $20 for).
It's also coming to jailbroken PS4s (which... currently means not recent firmwares.)

So I just noticed this, but apparently you can't toggle Game Mode on a game-to-game basis anymore with the Game Bar. (Hell, it's not even a bar anymore....) You can only toggle it globally in the Windows Settings app now. I noticed this as I was wondering if Game Mode might be hurting my Steam Overlay web browsing and perhaps even TF2's menus somehow - after it's been confirmed that Game Mode majorly hurts OBS performance. I don't know yet, but the secondary problem (because screw you, Microsoft), is that if I turn off Game Mode, I might start getting Windows updates while playing games again.

There was a rumor the other day that XBOX/MS was going to launch its streaming service as part of Game Pass, but that it would also come to the Switch. Now a commenter on GI is wondering if Nintendo games could get streamed to the new XBOX(s).

So with XBOX Live somehow expanding more (even to the Switch and also more to Windows 10), the newer Windows 10 Insider Builds are not compatible with Battleye (Bohemia's Anti-Cheat - ARMA and games from other developers). So far it's still blocking me from installing the new build, but I had to do a stupid amount of digging to get the actual reason why I'm still blocked. No idea how long I'll be blocked for or if I'll even ever be able to proceed without forcing it to an upgraded build. But it could be a while. It's just annoying because W10 bugs me about it every day even though it then just tells me that I can't go to the new build it's trying to give me.

lol, Well I guess this makes sense... After this guy left Steam/Valve a little while ago, he went into working on Windows Update publishing. But he's done already.
And just a reminder, Gabe Newell was a Microsoft millionaire before starting Valve.

Still curious where Steam and other related features are in regards to Game Mode.
In Intel news:
Permanent data storage in DIMM form (like RAM sticks).
Obviously, your motherboard has to support this.

Halo Infinite's multiplayer will be F2P and the MCC will be getting crossplay with mouse and keyboard support on XBOX.
Neat, but I..... don't think I want to play a Bungie/Halo(Destiny) game with mouse and keyboard. And if you don't, you will get wrecked by those who do.

idk if I'd expect RT on the S. Well, I guess maybe a little bit.
But this is so interesting for so many reasons, against Sony (or also maybe not interesting).
Sony is launching with 1 console that either does or does not have the disc drive. Either one is less powerful than the Series X. But the Series S is probably notably weaker (than both the X and PS5 maybe?) So XBOX has PS surrounded with another console.
But this S is seeming to be considered "next-gen"? maybe? What does this mean for where development and optimization will take place first? Will we see top-end (requirement-wise) games for the X that won't be coming to the S? Will that actually happen?
Since Sony probably still has the audience, will devs/publishers say "Fuck you" to the S, because they were going to develop for the PS5 in the first place, and maybe only bring it to the X and not the S.
Will Sony follow up with a lesser console sometime later as well? Hmmm.
Remember they're also trying to push streaming. ugh
How about potential game pricing? Perhaps $70 on PS5 and X, $60 on S? UUUUUGH. That's such garbage, especially if they aren't going to obey MS for free upgrades.

I know - just trying to get a handle on how it's all going to work, let alone the pricing! I thought the Series S is next gen except at 1080P instead of 4K. Not sure if it is that easy to frame, but that's what I read. So does that mean games won't be held back because it is simply upscaling resolution for the PS5 and X? Seems like the lower power/flops whatever would impact other things as well such as computational power required for advanced physics and AI (which i hope are in next gen games).
The S does have the faster SSD etc. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Of course I want the PS5. A "cheap" xbox in the S could be enticing if they ever have exclusives that 1) really interest me and 2) I have enough time to play them considering all I usually want to play on PS..
