Might be a few kids games we still have for my youngest thus would affect. Wasn't sure if I should bother upgrading on my old pc or my son's gaming rig. He didn't want to bother..

Oh Goodie... Microsoft has purchased Havoc. The physics engine/company that has been in many many games for many many years.
Even in Valve games. I guess that's another reason why they've been working on a new physics engine...

Microsoft is having HP, DELL, Lenovo, ASUS, and acer release VR headsets starting at $300.
Surface (all-in-one) desktops announced.
Built-in game streaming coming with the March update. I don't know if this has changed (not that it matters much for those with lower upload speeds), but the recording quality was pretty crap a while ago.

Hmm.... I was wondering because I was getting what seemed like micro lag judders in Rocket League (rather than framerate stutters)... which is usually an indicator that I should reboot my router and gateway. I tend to notice some little issues like this after a power outage, and I should've rebooted it days ago when it actually happened. And I still think this might've been the case because I didn't feel the issue afterwards. (as usual) Rather than this: www.pcworld.com/article/3223909/windows/windows-10-microsoft-promises-to-fix-an-ongoing-game-stuttering-problem.htmlHmm. Really though... Microsoft should really just stop fucking with things. Stop breaking what isn't broken, and make sure you absolutely know you aren't going to cause an issue when you add improvements... (AND STOP ADDING FEATURES THAT AREN'T NEEDED OR WANTED!). It's like the last 3-4 years in a row, I've had to get Microsoft (literally 4 or 5 times... so far) to re-fix... re-unbreak surround sound bitstreaming over optical. Well well beyond frustrating and ridiculous. But actually, I am already beyond that build mentioned in the article, so yeah, it was probably my router/gateway's problem. (do I blame Linksys or Frontier?) But still, I got hit hard by some actual framerate issues in TF2 tonight, which isn't really that unusual, but I put that on Valve rather than anyone else. That's really been a thing forever... since they added buttloads of hats.

Oh man, I don't know how I didn't realize this even though I'm on the Insider build, but after all these years, Windows finally added the ability to directly choose individually which apps use which audio output device. Coming in the public update in April. This can be hugely helpful for streamers who want to manage individual audio sources, or... perhaps listen to music that they can't stream. etc. Now I just wish they'd make it quicker to switch the actual default device in the new taskbar menus they've been building. You can change the amount of channels to output, but have to go into the settings menus to still change the default device. This is why I'm still using a 3rd party program that gives me a hotkey to do this. At least a while ago they finally did the amazing "revolutionary" thing of being able to switch the default device without breaking the audio of the currently running application or even game. Yet.... we still can't do it quickly just on the taskbar. come on.
