Ok, they released the full video today. It keeps sounding like bs (especially since they keep repeating "next-gen" performance), but then it sums it up near the end, and it makes sense. (though maybe late). It's going for 1440p (native) with RT - so like BFV on PC 2 years ago. (Upscaling 4K as well.) Ok, so not "next-gen", but at least it's not 1080p or less. Also, $300. The question is, will all (3rd party) full-next-gen games actually come to S? That's my question.
PS still has the audience lead I think. PS5 is where dev focus will be.
Think Sony will stick to their guns? PS5 $500? Disc/Discless pricing? How big of a difference will the pricing be between those 2? - because I have to get the disc version, unfortunately.
Oh, the S has a 512GB SSD, just fyi.

Now, PS already has EA Play, which I forgot about, but XBOX is getting it too now. But they actually include the 360 releases - BC2/1943.
PS might not get those without remaster releases. (Burnout Paradise got one.)
(But seriously, could the "360 version" of those games not work on PS5 since we're back to similar hardware?)

So is it now official that xsx will be $500 and the xss $300? I think so. Interesting. Gotta see ps5 at $500 yeah, not sure what difference in price for the digital version.
Should be interesting!

Kind of confusing, but something to note, I guess?
Hell, at least they fuckin have BC.

Yeah Sony really lost the BC argument. It sure would be nice to have "all" past games available to play on the new system.

Don't know for sure, but I think pretty much all PS4 will, at least without enhancements and maybe without some of the ones with gimmicks (lightbar).
PS3 is the only one I'd be willing to give them a pass on (even though I really want more Motorstorm), but no PS2/PS1 emulation is beyond unacceptable from them at this point really.

No Optical Audio.... Even though it still does Dolby/DTS 5.1, and I'm still pretty sure I saw an optical out on the X placed on the table during the GDC demonstration. sigh www.xbox.com/en-US/consoles/xbox-series-sDon't know what's up with the "Dedicated dual band Xbox Wireless radio", though.

And Bethesda is claiming yet ANOTHER engine overhaul. "the biggest since Oblivion."

uuuuuuuuuuuugh..... www.engadget.com/xbox-series-game-drive-1tb-220-053427485.htmlHere's hoping they actually drop the price at some point, but I think we know how much the game console companies don't like discounting gear that's proprietary for their system. This is a ding on them where Sony's isn't proprietary. I mean that doesn't necessarily mean that "certified" sufficient M.2 SSDs will be cheaper per se, but I think there's a better chance. Again, there might be cheaper M.2s, but those M.2s might still not be as fast as needed.
If I'm comparing the specs correctly (which I might not be), there might not be ANY SSDs right now that are quite that fast. Close, but these are a next step up. The current max ones are, yeah, around $200 for 1TB.
