Valve announced Desktop Theater mode for VR. More info at GDC, but it sounds like playing any game you want (or desktop hopefully) in a VR theater.
People are liking this VR theater stuff, even if it isn't an actual VR experience in the actual video (and now game).
Also, I'm sure you'll also be able to have friends join in inside the theater as a VR Steam Broadcast. But damn if that isn't gonna be tough on your system....

So Valve is bringing back "paid" mods or custom game modes... Which I was in support of in the first place (despite its issues of abuse).
But... seemingly coming straight from their "Campaign Pass" method from TF2, these "trusted custom game modes" from modders will cost $1/mo. Why? Because campaign passes in TF2 have worked, so far. (Even though I don't think you can really call it a new game mode).
Can't say I like this way of doing it...

Wanted to post the Steam VR display video from there, but we still have that video sound autoplaying bug... But hey! There's finally a major update coming to ProBoards soon - v6. It'll even have an accurate preview of what you're posting even without having to go to a new page. Gonna lose the theme though. We'll see if I even bother trying to get it close to how we've had it again when we get there... lol. It was reaaally difficult and still has issues haha.

A really close look at things like how the Vive is able to do some 'magic' to make your motion looking smooth even when your framerate drops down to 45 fps.
Looks like they're moving the Redistributable packages from the separate games to just be in 1 bundle on the Steam side, hopefully requiring less redundant copies for each game on your system.
You know what would be really nice though?... Unified save file locations... with complete cloud backup. Not gonna happen is it?....
