Oh man, I hadn't even heard about this.... store.steampowered.com/app/310560/DiRT going back to its roots. In Early Access now. Hoping to release around the end of the year. They'll be increasing the price as it goes on. Damn, remembering how much fun I had with DiRT 1 way back when, I might have to jump on this... Even though Project Cars comes out next week.... Shit.  lol The first time I played DiRT was at a Celtic Festival in Hartford where for some reason there was a gaming setup under a tent with a wheel and DiRT.  lol Even though I want to play it now, I think (or hope) it would be a good idea to wait until it's fully released before I play it. NOT THAT I HAVE THE HARD DRIVE SPACE! |

It's proving quite popular alright, and looks very good with a variety of weather conditions. I'm not convinced CM will go the extra mile to bring out a console version though. They say "...if there is sufficient interest..." yet it was they who made each of the Dirt games successively more arcade orientated.
I (obviously) will have to wait on this one, as I'm not getting a rig anytime soon, and if they do bring forth a PS4 version, that'll be sometime next year anyway.

God damn, I didn't realize how good it looked... and DiRT game have had a history of looking good...
I kinda wish they'd give these guys the Baja 500/1000 license.

Well it probably won't fully release until at least around the end of the year, like they said.
Been playing Project Cars the last few days. It certainly seems very Sim to me. Yeah, it doesn't have the huge roster that other games have, but still.

Legend is trying to get me to buy a gaming PC for this game... You better do my friend   Seriously though, I know how much you love rally Jim, and PC is the place to go. I don't know if you have played Richard Burns Rally, but that game is a MUST for rally fans. Dirt Rally comes close, but nothing beats RBR for pure authenticity and physics still. You might need to save up for a wheel as well though It's totally undrivable with keyboard. Heck even with a controller I struggle. With mods you can pretty much drive all rally cars and tracks ever created by mankind. In any case, it's looking like a great year for rally fans. Dirt Rally, Loeb Rally Evo and WRC5 all in one year! |
