Oh damnit, I left the anomaly just now and closed the game.
There's signs that the Discovery Services might be coming back up. But it's still behaving weird. It says it's been up for me for the last 2 days, but it never returned the names of 3/4 planets in my home system. These three still say they have not been uploaded. I jumped to what I thought was my 2nd system to see how things were going. This time I finally got my planet names back there all at once, but it turns out that apparently it might have been like my 3rd or 4th system, not my 2nd? But I did not get the name of this system back, just the planets, even though it says the system is uploaded. There's a chance this could be the system I forgot to rename before uploading, but I don't know. Also, even though I got those planet names back right as I warped do it, my discovery services then said disconnected. I jumped back to my first system and it said connected again. However, it still did not return my 3 remaining planet names there. But the thing is, these 3 still say not uploaded. I'm curious, but also scared as to what will happen if I try to upload them. Will they keep my new names, or will my old uploaded names finally override them? But if they keep my new names, would I be able to easily tell if it has gotten old names back or not. Probably not so easily. Might have to work through it. But I'm also extremely curious as to which planet was my original planet before the universe regeneration. And honestly, it's quite annoying that we cannot change names once uploaded. I've made mistakes with how I should name them throughout my first several systems.
And the strangeness of it saying I disconnected in my other system while still giving me its names back is pretty weird.

Today I got several of my system and planet names back by traveling to them. The system name that didn't return has to be the one I forgot to name before uploading. Also went to what I believe was the last system I went to before the update. At least a couple of systems I had discovered were too far away, as they were through the story portal for Artemis (at least I think), so it's not worth traveling to them. But here's still the strange part... With my highest/last numbered system, it means that apparently at least 2 systems have been wiped completely out of my Discovery list. Did I accidentally do that? If I had, I thought they were ones that someone else had discovered that get added to the list with a red icon. I don't think so, but if that's actually part of it somehow, I think things are really borked because the systems of mine are still missing. So things went interestingly, but kind of well... But then I traveled back to my first system. The Discovery Services then said disconnected. Damnit. When can I feel safe to try to see what happens if I try to upload these planets in my first system that still say not uploaded? I'd like to get going, please!.... And to find out which my first planet was and place a base. (And it still looks like you can't restore your pre-Next base in places other than those pre-set base locations instead of anywhere, like fresh new bases can. )

Community Missions are beginning and 1.58 patch notes (if you don't know them already from Experimental). www.nomanssky.com/2018/08/development-update-3/The new inventory transfer menu is a pretty lousy negative though, for controller users.

www.nomanssky.com/2018/09/development-update-1-59/www.nomanssky.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Spit01.gifYeah, I called it... No more jumping on top of the building where they can't reach you.... But running inside maybe? I've been testing that for weeks and that performance claim is utter bullshit. It does look nice once loaded though. Last time I checked, Pre-Next discoveries still get lost for me when I land on the planets. I'm getting the sense that maybe only 1 planet and my system names ever got uploaded successfully for me of the last 2 years, which is incredibly ridiculous. But I think there's further bugs with the discovery system, and I still bet I'll never get my planet names back permanently.

I bet it's still twin-stick, like the other 3.... For some reason, you get it through the Blueprint Analyzer, rather than through a base construction objective. Which actually many blueprints seem to be only through the blueprint analyzer? Which is confusing and annoying because even though I was given the Blueprint Analyzer... blueprint to build through a really buggy fashion, I was never given a tutorial or objective to actually build it. (yet? probably never will). This game divides up important blueprints in a random necessary manor, and I wonder how many blueprints general players have no idea how to get. Well that saves some pointlessly wasted space at least. Which this game has much of.
But it's still twin-stick, right?.... ugh. I wonder if they fixed the laser not shutting off if you hopped out while using it? JFC.....

The last week's experimental updates are now in the public build.
Today's 1 and only update for Experimental is that the setting for Tessellation is now available in-game without tweaking the settings file, which I've already been using for months.

nmswp.azureedge.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/TheAbyss-Banner.pngThat's all we know so far.
Hmm... Maybe more updates related to the Monstrosities and/or the abandoned buildings. I wonder if the Monstrosities will shoot into the building now? lol... Also if they ever fix toxic cave plants (or whatever they are) not triggering until you look directly at them now. Or looking like they had already been triggered until you look at them. An odd bug.
